CARING FOR YOUR LUXURY CANDLES EVERY DAY

A beautiful candle experience starts with a little intention. With simple care, your candle will burn cleanly, safely, and beautifully, creating a calming atmosphere for your home and everyone in it.

Trim the Wick Before Every Burn. This is one of the most important steps to follow!!

To keep your flame steady and reduce smoke, always trim your wick to about ⅛ inch before lighting. You can use a wick trimmer or scissors.

Why this matters: A wick that is too long can cause an oversized flame even to make your candle soot or release black smoke. This is a natural part of combustion, and it needs to be addressed.

If your flame looks too tall (over 1 inch) or your candle is smoking: Your wick may be too long, or the candle could be sitting in a draft. Extinguish the flame, allow the wax to fully cool and harden, trim the wick, then relight.

Safe Candle Practices

Keep these safety habits in mind every time you light your candle:

  • Always trim the wick to about ⅛ inch before lighting.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or use it while sleeping.
  • Limit burn sessions to 2–4 hours at a time.
  • Allow the wax to fully cool and the container to return to room temperature before relighting.
  • Keep candles away from drafts, vents, fans, and open windows.
  • Place candles on a flat, heat-resistant surface such as ceramic or stone.
  • Keep away from fabrics, paper, curtains, and other flammable materials.
  • Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
  • Stop burning when about ½ inch of wax remains or the wick base becomes visible.
  • Burning more than one candle? Leave at least 6 inches of space between them.
  • If you use an air purifier or fan, keep candles out of direct airflow for an even burn.

Always use the lid provided to put out your candle and contain the smoke from the extinguish natural process. Never put your candle out with water.

Understanding the Melt Pool

Your first few burns set the tone for the candle’s life. Allow the wax to melt close to the edges of the container — typically within 2–4 hours. With coconut wax, a full melt pool may not happen immediately and sometimes develops later in the candle’s life. This is completely normal and often helps create a longer, more even burn.

Avoid Burning Longer Than 4 Hours

Keeping your burn sessions within the 2–4-hour range helps maintain fragrance quality, prevents overheating, and keeps your candle performing safely.

Quick Fixes & Troubleshooting

  • Small or flickering flame: Trim off excess char and expose fresh wick before relighting.
  • Tunneling: Allow your next burn to last up to 4 hours to help even out the wax.
  • Smoking or soot: The wick is too long or exposed to a draft — extinguish,
    trim, and reposition the candle.

Restyle & Reuse Your Container

When only about ½ inch of wax remains, your candle has reached its final burn.

To clean your vessel:
Carefully pour warm water into the container and let it cool until the wax floats and hardens. Remove the wax, wipe it clean, then wash with mild soap and water. Allow it to dry completely.

Creative reuse ideas:

  • Makeup brush holder
  • Desk organizer for pens or small items.
  • Match or tea-light container.
  • Mini vase or succulent planter (add drainage stones)
  • Bathroom jar for bath salts or swabs
  • Entryway catch-all for keys and small keepsakes.
